He was the Brad Pitt during the family day I was covering. He got all the hugs and kisses from the little Jennifer Aniston, in the little children party the families was organizing for their children.
Never ask children to pose. It never worked and its not good either. The best photos is always candid.
Select the ISO which could give you shutter speed at least 1/125 and use the fastest lens you have in your arsenal. With children running and screaming around playing, everything seems to make your head spin. So is your autofocusing servo.
Go for manual focusing. Select an aperture which could give you a DOF of about 1m and set the focus for 2m. That way anything that happens in front of you between 2m to 3m away, you could get it without having to focus.
Its difficult to autofocus children playing or partying indoor. Even the fastest lens could not compete with running and swaying toddlers. Maybe it could freeze a Formula One racing car but not hyperactive children. Trust me.
